Copying a Team File into a Project
You can quickly copy an individual Team file into either a Team Project or an Enterprise Project from the Project Properties window. You use this functionality only when the Team file is not in any current Project.
1. If the Project is not open in the Project Properties window, then open it. For more information, see Opening a Project in the Project Properties Window.
2. In the Project Properties pane, select the heading for the type of file to copy.
3. Select Project > Copy File from File System. A window opens, indicating that you should use this command only if the file is not in a Project.
4. If this file is in another Project, click No and use the Copy Files from Another Project command instead. If this file is not in another Project, click Yes.
The Open File window opens, listing all Team and Tryout Project folders in the My Windchill Risk and Reliability Files folder for the current installation. The folder for the Common Library (CommonLibrary) and the Storehouse (Storehouse) appear in this list if Team versions of these special Projects exist. You can use the navigational options in the Open File window to go to a different directory.
5. Select the Team Project folder and click Open. The Project folder opens. Files of the type selected in the Project Properties window are shown.
6. If necessary, use Files of type to select a different file type.
7. Select the file to copy and click Open.
If you have selected a singular support file, a window opens, indicating this and explaining that if you click Yes to copy this file, the existing version of this file is backed up before being replaced with the selected file.
If you have selected a Table Format file and Simplify file inputs is selected (default) under General in the Project properties, a window opens, indicating that you cannot create this file because a file of this type already exists in the Project. After you click OK, you can clear Simplify file inputs and repeat this process. When this checkbox is cleared, the Table Format file is copied into the Project and enabled. In this case, the original Table Format file is backed up in case you want want to restore it.
