Associating Global Attributes with DVPs and Control Plans
You can associate attributes in the Global Attributes table with DVPs and/or control plans. The names of the special fields that you use to associate attributes with DVPs and control plans are always the plural names assigned to the FMEA DVPs and FMEA Control Plans tables. This topic assumes that the default plural names for these two FMEA tables are in use.
To associate a Global Attributes record with DVPs or control plans:
1. In the Global Attributes table, click the FMEA DVPs field or FMEA Control Plans field for the attribute. A browse button becomes available.
2. Click the browse button. Either the Associated FMEA DVPs window or Associated FMEA Control Plans window opens, displaying a table. This table lists all existing DVPS or control plans so you can specify which to associate with the attribute. You can also insert new DVPs or control plans and apply filters to this table.
The first column, which is always Associated, contains a checkbox that indicates if the DVP or control plan is associated with the attribute.
In the Associated FMEA DVPs window, the only other default column is Test Description. This field describes the test and should include test procedures where applicable.
In the Associated FMEA Control Plans window, the only other default column is Control Method. This field describes how the operation is controlled and should include work instruction numbers where applicable.
If desired, you can use the Format Builder to insert additional fields in the table. For more information, see Using the Format Builder to Modify an Enabled Table.
3. Select Associated for all DVPs or control plans that you want to associate with the attribute. You can click Select All or Clear All to select or clear all checkboxes and then customize your selections from there.
4. When finished, click Close.
The attribute is now associated with the specified DVPs or control plans. The special FMEA DVPs or FMEA Control Plans field is updated to display the number of DVPs or control plans that are associated with this attribute.
