Viewing Groups and Group Permissions
The Groups area provides for viewing and managing Windchill Risk and Reliability groups and the permissions assigned to them. The LDAP Groups area provides for viewing and managing LDAP groups and the permissions assigned to them. The following procedure is applicable to both of these areas.
1. In the shortcut bar, if the appropriate Groups area is not active, click its icon to make it active.
2. In the Groups pane, click the group to view its permissions.
3. In the Permissions pane, view and modify the permissions for this group.
As described in
Groups, the default
Administrators group has all function, system component, and support file permissions. The Admin user account that you initially use to log in to
Windchill Risk and Reliability is assigned to this group. You cannot delete the
Administrators group or modify its permissions. You must assign users who are to be system administrators to this
Administrators group. You can delete and modify any of the groups that insert.
4. In the Users pane, view the users assigned to this group.
The
Users pane is not available in the
LDAP Groups area. This is because you cannot assign LDAP users to LDAP groups in the
Administrator application. LDAP users are assigned to LDAP groups on the LDAP servers themselves. To view the LDAP groups to which an LDAP user is assigned, you use the
LDAP Users area. For more information, see
LDAP Users.
5. Select the Licensed Modules pane to view the licenses that can be acquired by this group.
