LDAP Users
When the LDAP Users area is selected, the left side contains the LDAP Users pane, and the right side contains two tabbed panes: Users and LDAP Groups. You use this area to insert users from connected LDAP servers and then assign user account information to them. The following table describes the panes in this area.
Pane
Description
LDAP Users
Displays all existing LDAP users and provides for inserting new and deleting old ones. When you open a Project’s Data Definition file in the desktop application, you can assign this list of LDAP users to any text-based field. Additionally, in a Project’s Alert file and Workflow file, you can use this list to specify who is to receive emails when certain criteria are met. For more information, see the help or guide for the desktop application. You can download the latest copy of the guide from the Reference Documents area on the PTC website.
Users
Displays user account information and Windchill Risk and Reliability group assignments for the user selected in the LDAP Users pane. While this pane displays the same information as the User Information pane in the Users area, account information is loaded from the LDAP server and so is display-only. For an LDAP user, you can indicate only Can create Projects and Can delete Projects permissions and Windchill Risk and Reliability group assignments. The Member of Groups list displays all groups that are inserted in the Users area. You can assign an LDAP user to one or more of these groups. For more information, see User Information Pane.
LDAP Groups
Displays all LDAP groups to which the user belongs. All LDAP groups to which the user is assigned on the LDAP server are shown. The LDAP group does not have to inserted in the LDAP Groups area for it to display in this list.
