Part Structure Browser: Enhancement to Path Filter
User Interface Location: Part structure browser
Product: Windchill
Release: 12.0.2.0
Benefit
Provides new and improved capabilities for applying a new path filter or modifying the existing path filter.
Additional Details
In this release, the path filter capability is enhanced with the new Find and Apply Path Filter and Add to Applied Path Filter actions.
The Find and Apply Path Filter action provides a set of new actions that allow you to directly apply a new path filter from a search. These actions enable you to:
Use a search based on a simple criteria similar to Find in Structure
Use a recently used Find in Structure search
Use a search based on a complex criteria similar to Advanced search
Use a saved Advanced Find Criteria
Each of these searching capabilities removes any currently applied path filter when searching for a new path filter to be applied.
The Add to Applied Path Filter action allows you to add a selected part to the currently applied path filter. This action replaces the “Add to existing filter” checkbox available in the Edit Path Filter window in previous releases.
Additionally, the Edit Path Filter action is updated to provide new path filter editing capabilities for the currently applied path filter. It now provides the ability to enable, disable, or remove selected paths in the currently applied path filter. Enabled paths actively filter the structure, disabled paths remain in the path filter but are not actively used to filter the structure, and removed paths are permanently deleted from the path filter.
Together these actions improve usability of the path filter in the part structure browser.
The path filter capability continues to provide the ability to filter a structure allowing only a select set of paths to be displayed.
