Rules for Using Save to Workspace
Consider these rules for saving the iPart Factory to a workspace using the Save or Save to Workspace action:
When you save the iPart Factory to a workspace, Windchill Workgroup Manager saves the model to the WFS Workspace, and also creates a generic CAD document in Windchill to represent the iPart Factory. In addition, for each iPart member, Windchill Workgroup Manager creates an .IPT file in the subdirectory of the WFS Workspace and a corresponding instance CAD document in Windchill. Windchill Workgroup Manager generates files for each iPart member as part of the normal save operation in preparation for use in Autodesk Inventor assemblies (rather than leaving the file to be generated on-the-fly when the iPart member is first inserted into an assembly).
Upon save, the iPart instances are saved to a subdirectory of the WFS Workspace with the name of the generic with no extension.
By default, Save to Workspace uploads objects after saving.
After the initial save, system attributes created by Windchill Workgroup Manager are added to the iPart table.
