Rules for Editing Attributes
Windchill distinguishes two types of attributes:
Non-file-based attribute-- A Windchill attribute that is not visible nor modifiable in the authoring application. Although its value can be added, modified, or deleted through the Windchill user interface, it is not passed to the CAD parameter, and, therefore, is not accessible in the authoring application.
File-based attribute-- A Windchill attribute that you can edit only from the authoring application; that information is passed between Windchill and Autodesk Inventor. In Autodesk Inventor, you can only edit file-based attributes. For an instance, file-based attributes are listed in the iPart table or in the iProperties window.
*
File-based attributes that are not included in the iPart table, do not apply to instances.
