Handling Custom iParts
Windchill Workgroup Manager does not manage Custom iParts as a family of objects. Instead, for Custom iParts, Windchill Workgroup Manager creates a set of interrelated, standalone CAD documents.
Custom iParts are handled according to the following rules:
Saving a generic iPart does not automatically save iPart instances. By default, the generic is saved as an independent model with no references to instances, unless you save the instances of the generic.
Saving an instance creates a standalone model.
The name of the Custom iPart instance file is defined by the user. The file name of the Custom iPart instance CAD document is the same as its file name.
For Custom i-Parts, details on the Related Objects tab lists the source or target file twice, as both a Design reference and a Derived reference. This is normal behavior.
