Assembling an iPart Factories Component in an Assembly
When you place an iPart instance in an assembly, Autodesk Inventor creates a separate part file (.IPT) for the instance if it is not already present in the WFS Workspace. Therefore, it is recommended that you add to the workspace any instance that you intend to assemble. Otherwise, you may need to resolve conflicts during checkin.
To insert an instance of an iPart into an assembly, you can use the WindchillSearch function to locate the instance, open its information page, and then add the instance to the workspace. You can also check the Family Tree report (from the Information page, select Related Objects > Family) in Windchill to find an instance by a particular attribute.
