Configuring the CATIA V5 Workgroup Manager Environment
CATIA environment settings are stored in text files that are referenced by the CATReferenceSettingPath and CATUserSettingPath environment variables.
The Windchill Workgroup Manager adapter for CATIA V5 supports both CATIA V5 reference (administrator) environment settings as well as CATIA V5 user environment settings upon startup. This enables the adapter to set up the Windchill Workgroup Manager environment in a way that more accurately reflects the user’s CATIA V5 environment.
You can configure additional Windchill Workgroup Manager runtime environment settings using one of the following methods:
Define and set CATIA V5 environment variables in the Windchill Workgroup Manager environment file WGM_11.0_CATIA_V5-6_R2014.txt.
Define and set CATIA V5 environment variables in the uwgm_client.js file.
For example, you can add reference (administrator) settings or change the default location for user settings.
Recommendations
The following considerations are recommended to assure that the Windchill Workgroup Manager runtime environment is properly set upon startup.
Avoid using CATReferenceSettingPath and CATUserSettingPath as the names of User or System environment variables. Doing so can have a negative impact on native Dassault Systems applications running on the same client. It is also not recommended to use these values in the different registered CATIA environments as it can hide possible changes in the tracking settings.
Avoid defining CATIA V5 environment variables as global (User or System).
Start CATIA V5 first to avoid additional configuration of the CATIA environment for Windchill Workgroup Manager.
If the Windchill Workgroup Manager adapter for CATIA V5 reports an environment mismatch, after you synchronize the CATIA V5 and Windchill Workgroup Manager environments, be sure to repopulate the data in your workspace.
