Creating a Defect from a Problem Report
If Windchill Integrations for Embedded Software is installed, you can use the Propagate functionality to create a defect from a problem report. The defect is created in the same context as the problem report. However you can move the defect to a different context after creating it. Using the Propagate functionality reduces the data entry to create the defect.
To create a defect from a problem report, perform the following steps:
1. From the Actions menu on the problem report information page, select New > New Defect. The New Defect window opens.
2. Select the Propagate information from the problem report check box under the Set Attributes step. The following fields are automatically copied from the problem report to the New Defect window:
Name
Description
Affected objects
Priority
3. Follow the instructions in Creating a Defect to create the defect.

The availability of the Propagate information from the problem report check box is controlled by a preference. If you do not see the check box, an administrator has disabled the preference.
