Assigning an Actor or a Role to an Activity
You can add or remove users and groups from team roles in an activity that is being executed. New activity tasks are automatically generated for the added users, and tasks are automatically removed from the Tasks table of users or groups who are removed from team roles.
Use the following procedure to assign the Creator actor, or a role to an Activity:
*
Creator is the only actor defined in Windchill, and it is assigned by default; therefore, the following steps should be unnecessary for the Creator actor unless the creator was manually removed from the participants list.
1. Click Actors to display either Creator as the only actor, click Roles to display a list of available roles, or click Team to display a list of available team roles.
2. Select Creator or select a role and click the >> button. If you are assigning roles, you can select as many teams as necessary.
3. When you have finished assigning the actor or role, click OK to save the assignments, or click one of the buttons on the left to continue.
*
Select the External Task check box if you want to designate a role to use the My Tasks application in ThingWorx Navigate to access and complete the assigned tasks. A URL to the workflow task details page of the My Tasks application is included in the notification email sent to the users. Users in roles that are not designated in this manner receive notifications that include the task URL to Windchill only.
The task URL to ThingWorx Navigate will only be generated if the base URL for the workflow task page of the My Tasks application is set in the wt.workflow.task.navigateURL property. The property value should be set in the format: [http or https]://<ThingWorxNavigate-hostname>:<port>/Thingworx/Runtime/index.html?mashup=PTC.CRDetailedReviewAppMashup, where <host> and <port> refer to the host and port of the ThingWorx Navigate application respectively. For more information on setting a value for a property, see Setting Property Values and Propagating Your Changes.
