Participants Tab
On the Participants tab of an activity process node, you can assign users, groups, roles, actors, team, or variables to perform an activity. If you choose a group or team, all members will receive the task in their individual Tasks table. User participants can be designated as optional or required for activity completion. Group or Team participants may be designated as all optional, any required, or all required.
|
In Windchill ProjectLink routing, selections are displayed only for required participants of User type. Participants that are not required will not have the selection on their task page. When you define routing events for Windchill ProjectLink, you must also define at least one required participant so that your workflow can be successfully completed.

Actor, role, and variable assignees will be resolved to actual users and groups at runtime. For more information, see
Workflow Template Administration.
|
The Creator actor for a workflow activity or workflow process will not necessarily resolve to the user who created the associated business object.
|
By default, the workflow activity will be assigned to the Creator actor (the creator of the activity at runtime). The Creator actor for a workflow activity is typically (but not always) the Creator actor for the workflow process. Since a workflow template is typically initiated when a business object is assigned to a life cycle, the Creator actor for the workflow process – and therefore the Creator actor for the workflow activities – is typically (but not always) the user who created the associated business object or changed its life cycle state. Since a workflow template subprocess is initiated by the system, the Creator actor for a subprocess is typically the Windchill Administrator user.
To add to the Assignee table, select it on the left pane, and click the >> button.
As you select assignees, they appear on the Assignee table, which specifies the participant types. The table indicates whether a specific participant is required to complete the task, or what conditions must be met to meet a requirement. That is, whether any participant, all participants, or a specified number must complete the activity.
To remove an assignee from the table, click the << button.
