Client Software Installation

This section contains information on how to install Eclipse on either your Windchill server or a local client machine.

If Eclipse is already installed, go to the Client Software Configuration section to complete the client integration with Windchill Integrations for Embedded Software.

Refer to the following Eclipse installation procedure as a guideline. See the installation instructions for your Eclipse software for detailed instructions.

1. From the following URL address, http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/, download and save Eclipse IDE for Java Developers (Eclipse Helios 3.6.1) 32 or 64 bit to your local drive.

Ensure that you install the same version software for the Eclipse client as the Windchill server. For example, choose 64 bit Eclipse software if your Windchill server is JVM (64 bit).

2. Unzip and install Eclipse into a local folder. For example,

C:\Program Files (x86)\eclipse-java-helios-SR1-win32Eclipse

Eclipse is started via the eclipse.exe.

3. The client installation is complete.
