Option Filter: Support for Boolean Values for Choices and Selecting Choices Using Textual Entry
Product: Windchill
Release: 11.2.1.0
Benefit
You can define boolean values for a choice, true or false, when selecting them in the Option Filter tab for filter evaluation. The boolean values can only be defined for choices of an option for which the attribute Allow False Choice is set to Yes. You can also view the Selected Choices table that provides the ability to select multiple choices using textual entry.
Additional Details
In the Option Filter tab, you can now define a choice for an option using boolean values true or false. For this option, the Allow False Choice attribute must be set to Yes when creating that option. When this attribute is set, the option can contain a single choice that can be represented as either a true or false when defining and applying an option filter to a configurable structure.
In the Option Filter tab of the Edit Filter window, after you select an option defined with Allow False Choice attribute set to Yes, the Set as False action becomes available in the right panel. You can then select the choice as included representing true boolean value, by clicking the radio button. Or you can select the choice as false using the Set as False action to evaluate the choice as false within the boolean expression. For example, if the choice is defined as false within the item expression and you have defined a false choice within the filter, the filter evaluates that choice as true.
In Option Filter tab, you can also view a summary of the choices selected in the current option filter by selecting the Display Selected Choices icon. This switches the display of the options table to the Selected Choices table. This provides a more detailed view and management of the selected choices. In this view, you can select choices for filter evaluation by using a textual entry field available in the right panel. You can either enter choices one at time with the help of the auto— suggest search, or you can copy a comma-separated list from an external application such as Microsoft Excel and paste it into the textual entry field. This saves time by eliminating the need to click each option to select choices in a separate panel.
