Deleting Parts Lists
You can delete a parts list or a part, depending on configured permissions.
The Delete action can be found in these locations:
1. In the shortcut menu in the Folders page
2. In the Actions menu in the Structure tab of the Parts List Editor
Each of these actions opens the Delete window. Refer to Deleting an Object for information on using this window to delete the parts list and any related objects, if applicable.
Refer to Collecting Objects Associated with Parts Lists for information on including objects related to the parts list in a Delete action.
The following items will be included in the Delete action as a default:
Links to parts associated with a parts list item by a Substitute relationship
Refer to Managing Substitute Parts for information.
Links to parts linked to a parts list item by a Supplementary Replacement relationship
Managing Supplementary Parts for information.
The following items are not included in the Delete action:
Associated graphic dynamic document (GDD)
The GDD will not be deleted when deleting either the parts list or its associated illustration

To include a parts list’s downstream linked objects in the Delete action if Windchill MPMLink is not installed (and Windchill Service Parts is installed), choose the Collect downstream linked objects button Collect downstream linked objects in the Delete window’s toolbar.
To include a part’s downstream equivalent part in the Delete action if Windchill MPMLink is not installed (and Windchill Service Parts is installed), choose the Collect downstream equivalent part button in the Delete window’s toolbar.
Any applicability (ATO and Service Effectivity) settings configured for parts list items and illustrations in a parts list will be removed when the parts list is deleted.
