Insert New Document Dialog Box
The Insert New Document dialog box allows you to add a new data module to the currently selected node in the information structure.
The Insert New Document dialog box is displayed when you select a node (this must be at the Disassembly Code Variant level) in the information structure, and then select Insert New > Insert New Document from the context menu.

Many of the attributes default to the values specified when creating the product.

You cannot assign an illustrated parts data module to a parts list that is already associated with an illustrated parts data module with different System, Sub-system, Assembly, Disassembly Code and Disassembly Code Variant settings.
An error message is displayed if you attempt to do this.
Object
Description
Product
Displays the current product.
Type
Displays Data module.
Authoring Language
Select the appropriate language.
Schema
Select the required schema. This filters the Information Code list to contain just the appropriate information codes.
Select a Schema means that the Information Code list is not filtered and contains all available information codes.
Information Code
Select the required information code. This pull-down list is filtered by the Schema pull-down list.
User defined information codes can be added to the product using Windchill template functionality for:
S1000D - All
S1000D - Data modules
S1000D - Entities
S1000D - Publication modules

This list displays Information Code data module templates whose authoring language (PTC_DD_LANGUAGE attribute) matches the default language set for the product, and the value selected in Authoring Language.
Data Module Extension
Check this to use the optional data module code extension. Extension details are specified by the S1000D project data.

Extension section
Enabled if the Data Module Extension check box is checked.

Select the required producer for the data module extension.
Extension Code
Select the required code for the data module extension.
Attributes section

Location
In the Location text box, set the default location where the content for the new data module is stored.

You can browse to a location by clicking the browse button.
You can select the Autoselect Folder option if you are happy to store the data module in the default folder.
S1000D section

Description
Model Identification Code
Displays the selected model identification code.
This is set at product creation time.
System Difference Code
Displays the selected system difference code.
This is set at product creation time.
System Code
Displays the selected system code.
This is set at product creation time.
Sub System Code
Displays the selected subsystem.
This is set at product creation time.
Sub Sub System Code
Displays the selected sub-sub-system code.
This is set at product creation time.
Assembly Code
Displays the selected assembly code.
This is set at product creation time.
Disassembly Code
Displays the selected disassembly code.
This is set at product creation time.
Disassembly Code Variant
Displays the selected disassembly code variant.
This is set at product creation time.
Technical Name
Displays the default technical name.
This is set at product creation time.
Originator
Select the default originator.
Responsible Partner Company Code
Select the default responsible partner company NSCM code.
Information Code Variant
Enter the required variant code.
The default is normally set on the Information Code template. By default, this is A.
Item Location Code
Enter the required item location code.
Security Classification
Select the required security classification.
Language
Select the required language.
Country
Select the required country.
Brex Data Module
Select the required BREX data module.
If there are multiple BREX data modules or versions available, you can select the required one.
Applicability Cross Reference Table Data Module
Select the required ACT data module.
You can edit the reference to the ACT in Arbortext Editor later, if required.
Associate Part List section

Description
Associated Part List
Enter the parts list that you want to associate with the IPD data module.
Find
— Displays the Find Part List dialog box. This allows you to search for the required parts list. When you have selected the required parts list, click OK. The selected parts list is associated with the IPD data module.
Clear — Clears the contents of the Associated Part List box.
This section is only displayed for an IPD data module.
Object
Description
Insert
Creates the new data module. You can then add further data modules if you require.
OK
Creates the new data module and closes the dialog box.
Cancel
Cancels the current operation and closes the dialog box.
