If you do not wish to use the new rich text fields, you can revert to the original fields by editing the attribute layout using the Type and Attribute Management utility. For more information, see Editing Attribute Layouts.

If you select a font that is not available in your system, it is displayed as plain text.
|

Use the toolbar buttons to perform any action on the text in the editor window. Do not use HTML markup tags, they are rendered as text.

• In Internet Explorer, you can use the paste buttons given in the rich text toolbar. In other browsers, use keyboard shortcut or right-click menu to paste the text.
• Microsoft Edge browser does not support the paste as plain text and paste from Word features.
• If the source font or format is not available in the rich text toolbar, the copied content is displayed as plain text.
• Rich Text Editor does not support copy or paste of images.

You can right-click or double-click a hyperlink to modify its properties or click Unlink to remove the hyperlink.

After creating the table, you can right-click it to modify its properties.

JCA tables do not support the display of the values entered in rich text fields. It shows a warning icon to indicate so. Report Builder uses JCA tables, so it will also not render rich text.

The rich text component of Cognos reports does not support hyperlinks and tables. You can use the HTML text components of Cognos to render hyperlinks and tables. Additionally, while exporting the rich text report into Excel format, background color applied to a single word is not displayed. The default character limit for rich text attributes is set at 20000. If you wish to edit the character limits, you can update the Info*Engine tasks for summary reports. For more information, see Updating Character Limits for Change Summary Reports in Cognos.
