Exploring a Document to Copy or Move Content Items
The Explore and Add option enables you to explore the destination document and then copy or move the selected content items from the current document to a required location in the destination document. You can also include the child nodes along with the parent nodes, if required.
To copy or move content items using the Explore and Add option:
1. Open the document in DocStudio.
2. Select the content items you want to copy or move and then click Add to > Another document > Explore and Add.
The Explore and Add window opens.
3. Select Query or ID.
To copy or move content items based on a query:
a. Select a query from the query list. You can also search for a query in the query list. A list of items corresponding to the selected query is displayed.
b. Select the document item where you want to copy or move the content items.
To copy or move content items based on an item ID:
a. Select ID.
b. Type the document item ID into which you want to copy or move the content items.

While querying a document to copy or move, the query results display document items of the same document type as the current document. Similarly, while using the ID option, the specified document ID must match the document type of the current document.
4. Click Proceed.
The Add to document page opens. The selected content items from the current document are displayed in the left pane and the destination document is displayed in the right pane.
You can add more columns to the right pane of the Add to document page using the in the column header. Columns belonging to the following data types are available for display
Shorttext
Rich text (plain text)
IBPL
Picklist

The system may take a while to display the extra columns added to the right pane.
The content displayed in the columns in the Add to document page is limited to 100 characters.
If required, you can replace the destination document using . The replace document icon is disabled if any previous copy or move operation has not been saved.
In the left pane, select Include child nodes if you want to copy or move the content items from the current document with the child nodes.
The following actions are applicable when you select Include child nodes:
The items that contain child nodes are displayed with a text (With child nodes) appended with it.
If you have already selected the child nodes with the top-level item in the first step, the item with the child nodes will collapse and display only the top-level item with the text (With child nodes) appended to it.
If you clear the Include child nodes check box, all the selected child nodes are displayed along with the top-level item. You can copy or move the selected child nodes without the top-level item.

When you select or clear the Include child nodes check box, any previous changes in the selection of nodes on the left pane is not maintained.
5. Click the Hamburger icon to the left of the content item in the left pane and perform one of the following actions:
Drag the content item above the target item in the right pane.
Drag the content item below the target item in the right pane.
Drag the content item into the target item in the right pane to add the content item as a subsection.

All selected items are dragged when you drag one item.
The Copy or Move Section window opens.
a. Select Copy to copy the content items or Move to move the content items.
b. For the copy operation, select the required reference mode. For more information on reference mode, see Understanding Document Structure.
To include traces, select Include traces, if required.
6. Click Proceed.
The location where the selected content items from the current document are being copied or moved in the destination document is highlighted. You can undo or redo the copy or move operation using .

You cannot drag and drop on the content items copied or moved in the previous operation.
7. Click Apply. The content items from the current document get copied or moved into the destination document at the specified location.
Once you apply the changes, the left pane is enabled again, and you can continue to copy or move the content items from the current document at other locations into the destination document item.
To view the copied or moved content items, click View in the notification message that is displayed after the operation is completed.
8. Click Save to save the changes.
