General Policies

General configuration policies allow you to set up rules for the following:

• enforced revision descriptions

• enforced archive descriptions

• storing text files by reference

• deferred operations mandatory

• restricting New Revision Available deltas to variant projects

• forcing a check of the FetchRevision permission for member commands

• making Sandbox members always writeable

• adding symbolic link files as members

• enabling checksum verification of member revisions

• maximum size of text revisions or working files for store-by-delta archives and server-side differencing operations

• enforced non-member inclusion file pattern filters

• enforced non-member exclusion file pattern filters

• forcing member additions as binary archives based on matching file patterns

This section describes the available global policy options and how you can modify them using the Windchill RV&S administration client. The procedures described here also apply for editing any project policy sections that you create.
