Working With Labels

You can modify individual text labels, field labels, and field values to create the emphasis, readability, and layout you want for your template. Text labels are simple text strings defined by you.

Field labels are assigned by Windchill RV&S according to your field definitions. You can override the text presented as a field label for purposes of the item display.

For purposes of item display, a field label also overrides the display name for a field.

The field value is directly associated with the field label. The content for field values is supplied by Windchill RV&S according to the information submitted by users over the item’s life. You can format the style of presentation for field values, but you cannot change their content.
