Creating a Service Product Hierarchy
You can create a service product hierarchy from the Actions menu of the Folder Contents toolbar. This is an optionally enabled feature. For more information, see Optionally Enabled Features.
Follow these steps to create a service product hierarchy:
1. Select a product and navigate to the Folders page.
2. In the Folder Contents toolbar click Actions > New > New Service Product Hierarchy.
3. The New Service Product Hierarchy window that opens lets you create a service product hierarchy object under the Set Attributes step.
In the first section, the following fields appear:
Product- Displays the name of the product.
Type- Lets you select the type of service product hierarchy object.
CAGE code- Displays the organization ID to which the product belongs.
In the second section, the following fields appear under Attributes:
Name- Lets you specify a name for the product hierarchy object that you are creating.
Number- Displays an auto-generated number for the service product hierarchy object if autonumbering is configured in your system. Otherwise, you can enter a number that is unique to the product hierarchy.
View- Displays the type of view for the product hierarchy object.
Life Cycle Template- Displays an auto-generated life cycle template value for the service product hierarchy object if life cycle templates are configured in your system. Otherwise, you can enter a value for the life cycle template.
Team Template- Displays an auto-generated team template value for the service product hierarchy object if team templates are configured in your system. Otherwise, you can enter a value for the team template.
Location- Lets you select one of the following items for specifying folder location:
Autoselect Folder—Allows the system to assign a folder location.
Select Folder—Allows you to select the folder location of the product base from a drop-down list by clicking . The list contains the name of the folder and subfolders in which the new product base was launched.
4. Click Finish to create the service product hierarchy object.
You can view the new service product hierarchy in the Folders page.
