Model Identification-based ICN
The Insert New Illustration dialog box is displayed when you select an Assembly Code node in the information structure, and then select Insert New > Insert New Illustration from the context menu.

Many of the attributes default to the values specified when creating the product.

Description
Product
Displays the current product.
Type
Displays Model Based Information Control Number.
Authoring Language
Select the required language for the ICN.
Template
Select the required template for the ICN from a set of pre-existing templates.
If you want to select a local graphic file as the source for the ICN, leave this as Select a Template.
S1000D Help
Displays this help topic when clicked.
Primary Content Source
Allows you to specify the type of file that is associated with the ICN:
Local File — browse for a file from the desktop
Windchill Illustration — find a file in the Windchill repository
Only displayed if Select a Template is selected in the Template drop down list.
Windchill Illustration
Displays the file name of a manually selected Windchill illustration source file
Use the Find feature to locate and select the illustration in the Windchill repository
Only displayed if Windchill Illustration has been selected in the Primary Content Source drop down list.
File Name
Displays the file name of a manually selected graphic source file
Enter the full path to the graphic source file or select the path and file using Browse...
Only displayed if Local File has been selected in the Primary Content Source drop down list.
Template section
This section displays the ICN template size that is used for the template illustration.
Object
Description
Template Width
The width of the illustration.
This value is auto-populated if you select a template from the Template drop down list
Depending on the template that you selected you may be able to change this value.
Template Height
The height of the illustration.
This value is auto-populated if you select a template from the Template drop down list
Depending on the template that you selected you may be able to change this value.
Notation type
The file extension of the illustration.
S1000D Type
If a local file is selected for the ICN, you can choose the S1000D illustration type and page size from the drop down list.

Description
Location
Set the default location where the content for the new ICN is stored.

You can browse to a location by clicking the browse button.
You can select the Autoselect Folder option if you are happy to store the ICN in the default folder.
S1000D section
This values in this section build the new ICN number. Some attributes are extracted from product defaults and the SNS location and cannot be edited.

Model Identification Code
Displays the selected model identification code.
This is extracted from the default value set for the product.
System Difference Code
Displays the selected system difference code.
This is extracted from the default value set for the product.
System Code
Displays the selected system code. .
This is extracted from the SNS structure.
Sub System Code
Displays the selected subsystem code.
This is extracted from the SNS structure.
Sub Sub System Code
Displays the selected sub-sub-system code.
This is extracted from the SNS structure.
Assembly Code
Displays the selected assembly code.
This is extracted from the SNS structure.
Originator
Displays the originator. You can edit this value.
The default value is extracted from the default value set for the product.
Responsible Partner Company Code
Displays the Responsible Partner Company NSCM code.
The default value is extracted from the default value set for the product.
Variant Code
Enter the required variant code.
Security Classification
Select the required security classification.

Insert
Creates the ICN and leaves the dialog box open. You can create and insert further ICNs.
OK
Creates the new ICN and closes the dialog box.
Cancel
Cancels the current operation and closes the dialog box.
