About Other Templates
Depending on the context you are in, you may have access to the following types of templates from the
Templates table:
• Life cycle templates define the phases and gates associated with various business objects when the objects are initialized.
• Report templates define default values that are used when users run reports that are used for change management.
• Team templates define the default roles that are used when users populate teams associated with life cycles.
• Workflow templates define default values that are used when users initiate a workflow. (Windchill Arbortext Content Manager or Windchill PDMLink only)
Each of these types of templates is administered through its own application and not through actions on the
Templates table; however, the use of and access to all templates is the same. See
Template Access.
To access the template administrator for each of these template types, use the following procedure:
1. Navigate to the context under which you want to administer the template.
2. Click the Templates link. The Templates page appears.
3. Select type of template from the table view drop-down list.
4. To start the application, click the template administrator icon that is at the top of the table. For example, if the current view is
Life Cycle Templates, click the administer life cycle templates icon
. The application opens, allowing you to administer the templates that are available from the current context.
