Associating Resources with an Equivalent Part
To associate a resource with an equivalent part:
1. In the Manufacturing Resource Explorer navigation pane, select and checkout the object you would like to associate an equivalent part with.
2. Click the Equivalent Parts tab.
3. In the
Upstream Equivalent Parts table, click the add equivalent part icon
.
The Search window opens.
4. Use the search window to filter your search query, then click Search.
5. Select the object you would like to define as the equivalent of the object selected in the navigation pane, and click OK.
The Add Equivalent Part window opens.
6. Enter a description for this equivalent link and use the Equivalent Occurrence Enabler drop-down list to enable or disable the appearance of equivalent occurrences, then click OK.
The object now appears in the Upstream Equivalent Parts table.
| You can also create equivalent part links by copying and pasting, or dragging and dropping an object from an open Manufacturing Product Structure Explorer to the Upstream Equivalent Parts table of the Equivalent Parts tab. |
