Dragging and Dropping in Explorers
Using drag-and-drop functionality, you can either move or copy an object amongst explorers.
You can select objects to move from the navigation pane on the left or a tab in the right pane.
|
The validity of the drop within an explorer depends on the following.
• The state of the part at the drop point.
• Any relationship constraints, which determine valid associations among objects. See your administrator for more information.

Moving an Object
To move an object (similar to cut and paste):
1. Drag-and-drop the object from its current location to the desired location.
2. Enter the desired values in the fields that appear, and click OK.
The moved object now appears in the structure.
Copying an Object
While you can only move objects within one instance of explorer, you can copy parts to and from multiple instances of explorers. Drag from any valid source in one explorer instance and drop in another.
To copy an object (similar to copy and paste):
1. Hold the control key (typically CTRL), and drag-and-drop the object from its current location to the desired location.
A new window appears.
The copied object now appears in the structure.
