The Export action provides the ability to export the part instance structure information to your workstation in the file formats contained in the drop-down menu.
Use the following procedure to export part instance structure information:
1. Expand the part instance structure to display the branches you wish to be included in the exported file.
*
The exported file will contain only the part instance structure branches and attribute values that are displayed.
2. Click the export list to file icon and select a file format from the drop-down menu.
3. You will be prompted to open or save the exported file by your browser. The prompt you receive depends on the browser that you use.
*
The name of the exported file is derived from the top part in the part instance structure.
Part Structure Panes
The area below the toolbar is divided into panes. The left pane displays the part structure for the part instance structure.
*
The part structure of a part instance can allocate child part instances. When a child part instance is not allocated the part master icon is displayed.
The attributes displayed in columns to the right of each part include:
Part Instance – Contains the name of the base part instance or allocated child part instances. Click on the entry in this column to go to the part instance information page for the part instance.
Start Incorporation – The date when the part instance was assembled.
Trace Code – The traceability associated to each node within the part instance structure. For example, when a child part in the part instance structure is traceable by serial number this column will contain the entry Serial Number.
The part instance and assembly parts within the part instance structure are expanded one level at a time using the expansion arrows to the left of each assembly row.
The right pane contains tabs of information about the part that is selected in the part instance structure pane. The following table describes the tabs and the information they contain:
