Creating a New Graphics Dynamic Document or Graphic Information Element
Windchill offers two dynamic document subtypes specialized for graphical file content. A graphics dynamic document is a general type, primarily for managing images through the workspace. A graphical information element dynamic document is more commonspace-oriented, although both subtypes can appear in both the workspace and the commonspace.
To create a new graphics dynamic document, see Creating a New Graphics Dynamic Document.
To create a new graphical information element, see Creating a New Graphic Information Element.
Creating a New Graphics Dynamic Document

1. Click File > New > Graphics. The New Graphics Dynamic Document window appears.
2. Accept existing values or select new values in the following fields:
Object
Description
Product

Name
The system assigns a default name for the new graphics dynamic document that is the name of the content file without its extension. You can enter a different name.
Number
If auto-numbering is enabled at your site, the system provides a value. If auto-numbering is turned off, you are not able to create a graphics dynamic document in this user interface.

Autoselect Folder means the system sets a default location.
Select Folder lets you choose a folder. Click the browse button to display the Set Location window, and set the location.
3. Click OK. The new graphics dynamic document is created and appears listed in the workspace from which you initiated the creation. Its object subtype is PUB_GRAPHIC.
