Creating a Generated Process Plan
For a particular generic process plan, you can create one or more generated process plans using the Generate Process Plans action. However, the generic process plan must be associated with a generic or variant manufacturing BOM (mBOM). For more information about variant mBOM, see Generating Mass mBOMs in the BOM Transformer.
Procedure
1. Open the generic process plan for which you want to create the generated process plan.
2. Open the relevant mBOM structure in the tree picker using the Open Related Object action.
3. Select one or more variant mBOM structures, and right-click the generic process plan and select Generate Process Plans.
4. Click OK to continue the action.

If there is issue in creating the generated process plan, a message appears indicating the problem.

If successful, a generated process plan is created. It is displayed in the Generated Process Plans tab in PPB. The name of the generated process plan is displayed in this format: <name of the generic process plan>_<number of the generic process plan>.
If you selected more than one variant mBOM structure, an equal number of process plans are generated.
All the valid objects associated with the generic process plan, such as operations, sequences, attributes, allocations, documents, resources, work instructions, standard control characteristics, plants, and option sets, are also associated with the new process plan. You can access the information page of the generated process plan to view the associated objects in detail.

The objects that are created for a generated process plan structure, are stored in the folder in which the objects for the generic process plan structure are stored. The objects that are created or updated can be tracked in a change notice using the  action from the toolbar of PPB. For more information, see Capturing ECN Changes in the Process Plan Browser. |
If you want to carry forward only specific attributes and associations from a generic process plan to a generated process plan, you can create a rules file. For more information, see Rules File for Generated Process Plans.
Generated Process Plans Table
The Generated Process Plans table shows identity information of the generated process plan along with the associated mBOM part and variant specifications, if any.
The table shows the following actions:

Synchronize Process Plans—Synchronizes the generated process plan with the generic process plan. For more information, see Synchronizing Generic and Generated Process Plans.

Update Status Indicators—Displays the out-of-date status between the generated process plan and generic process plan in the Status column. The status 
indicates a discrepancy between the structures. You can rectify the discrepancies by synchronizing the structures.

Preference
Object Type Mapping to Create Objects for Generated Process Plan Structures
While creating a generated process plan structure, you can specify whether a particular type of object should be created against a given type in the generic process plan. Use the preference Object Type Mapping to Create Objects for Generated Process Plan Structures to provide the object type mapping for the new objects. The mapping can be specified for process plans, operations, and sequences. If this preference is not specified, the objects created in the generated process plan are of the same type as those in the generic process plan.
