Using Related Interference Detection Reports
Use Related Interference Detection Reports to display and examine generated interferences. You can perform the following tasks:
Viewing an Interference Detection Report
Interference reports can only be seen from the context of an Interference Detection Definition (IDD.) Follow this procedure to display an Interference Detection Report of an IDD and to view information for individual interferences.
1. Related interference tables must be added to a view before you can see them. If this has already been completed, skip to step 3. On the Details page of an IDD, select . A new tab opens.
2. Select Customize > Related Objects, and then select one or both of the following options:
To view the Related Interferences table, select Related Interferences.
To view the Related Interference Detection Reports, select Related Interference Detection Reports.
3. From the Related Interference Detection Reports table, right-click the report to investigate and choose View Interference Detection Report. The Interference Detection Report Contents table opens.
To view the Interference Detection Report in Creo View, select Open in Creo View. Windchill attributes are included in the report See Editing Attributes of Interference Results. for information on editing attributes.

If the filter that was used to open the interference report changes, the structure that is displayed in Creo View can change.
Viewing Interferences
Interferences can be viewed from either the details page of an IDD or a part. If interferences are viewed from the details page of an IDD, the table contains all available interferences associated to the reports generated from the interference definition. If interferences are viewed from the context of a part, all interference in which the part is one of the conflicting parts, are reported. Apply filters to help tailor which interferences are visible in the table. Set the filter under the title Related Interferences to one of the following options:
All Reports this IDD—Displays all the interferences from all reports of this IDD. An interference that is in more than one report is displayed in the context of the latest report. Available for all IDDs (default.)
Latest Report this IDD—Displays only the interferences of the latest report of this IDD. Available for all IDDs.
All Reports Shared Group—Displays all interferences from all reports of a Shared IDD. An interference that is in more than one report is displayed in the context of the latest report. Available for Shared IDDs only.
Latest Reports Shared Group—Displays all the interferences from the latest report of each IDD in a Shared IDD. An interference that is in more than one report is displayed in the context of the latest report. Available for Shared IDDs only.
You can inspect the interference details by viewing information on the thumbnail or in the columns. Columns with comparative information can be sorted by different categories of that column. When sorting a column, all instances of the column are sorted, except for Common Parent Level, Assignee, Assigned Interferences, Precision, and Identity, in which case one page of results is sorted at a time.

The number of rows in a page is set in your Tables > Size Limit preference (default value is 2000).

Inspect and sort the following columns for analysis of interferences:
The Status of Interferences

The Status column shows the status of the interference compared to previous runs of the IDD.
An interference that has been resolved does not appear in the new report.
When an interference report from a shared IDD is opened, the status of an interference updates according to the status of the interference in other reports of other IDD’s of the same share.
For non-Shared IDD’s, if the latest report is deleted, the status attributes are not reverted, so the information may not be correct.
New —The interference was not previously detected.
Existing, no icon—The interference was previously detected.
Modified —The relative location and one or both of the interfering parts have changed.
Modified part —One or both of the interfering parts have been changed.
Modified location —The relative location between the two interfering parts has changed.
New Interference —The interference was not previously detected and is found in the latest interference analysis.
Existing and found in latest interference analysis —The interference was previously detected and is found in the latest interference analysis.
Modified and found in latest interference analysis —The relative location and one or both of the interfering parts have changed and the interference is found in the latest interference analysis.
Modified Part and found in latest interference analysis — One or both of the interfering parts have been changed and the interference is found in the latest interference analysis.
Modified Location and found in latest interference analysis —The relative location between the two interfering parts has changed and the interference is found in the latest interference analysis.

indicates that an interference is associated to a change process.

Mode of interference calculation.
Accurate precision mode displays no symbol.
Approximate precision is indicated by ~.
ID
Identifies the number of the object.
Report
Displays the name of the report in which the interference is found in Related Interferences and Assigned Interferences tables.
This column does not appear in the default view. You can activate it in the Customize View List window.
Name
A unique number that identifies an interference. It is an identifier for a given interference and is constant in all contexts of interference tables, for instance, if it is added to a change report.
Volume
Volume of the penetration detected in cubic units.
If the interference volumes are not calculated, Unavailable is displayed. This occurs if Approximate mode is set to not calculate volumes and in some cases of Accurate mode where volumes cannot be calculated.

In cases of Contacts and Clearances this field remains blank as volume is not calculated.
Minimum Distance
Minimum required clearance distance between two parts.
Severity
An integer number from 1 to N that indicates the relative severity of the interferences, from the highest severity (1), to the lowest, as follows:
A severity of 1 indicates the interference with the biggest volume.
As the volumes of the interferences decrease, the values of the integers increase to the Interference with the smallest volume that has a value of K.
Interferences with no calculated volume have a value of K+1.
Unavailable is displayed in the Volume column.
All cases of Contact have a value of K+2.
The Volume column is empty.
The Clearance with the smallest Minimum Distance has a value of K+3, the next K+4, and so on, up to the Clearance with the largest Minimum Distance.

Any number of interferences can have the same Severity value. This occurs if the interference volumes are identical or if they are not calculated.
If the interference volumes are not calculated, Unavailable is displayed in the Volume column. This occurs if Approximate mode is set to not calculate volumes and in some cases of Accurate mode or Approximate mode set to calculate volumes.
Interferences calculated before Creo View 4.0 M010 maintain old severity values, but Unavailable is displayed instead of N/A.
To filter Volume and Severity in the Customize table by Unavailable, set Volume mm² and Severity to Less than0.
User Severity
A user-defined interval value that could be used to determines task priority within the team. You can view and manually edit User Severity for one or more selected interferences. You can also sort and filter interferences according to the severity assigned to them
Description
A description of the IDD.
Created
The time and date that interference was created.
Last Detected
The date and time that this interference was last detected. For a new interference this field shows the same values as in Created.

Assignee
The team member who is responsible for the activity.
State
Identifies the current life cycle state of the object.
Common Parent Level
Provides an indication of how deeply nested an interference is. The deeper the common parent level, the more easily the interference is resolved.
Editing Interference Attributes
You can edit some attributes of interference results to provide feedback to team members or to delegate tasks to them. These edited attributes are included in an Interference Report when opening it in Creo View.
1. Open the Edit window in one of the following ways:
Select one or more interferences, right-click and select Edit.
Select one or more interferences, and then select Actions > Edit.
2. These are the attributes that you can edit.
Assignee—The user assigned to the activity. See Selecting Participants for further information about assigning team members.
Description—Provides a description of the interference.
Name—Displays the name of the interference. It can be up to 225 characters.
State—Displays the life cycle state of the interference.
User Severity—A user specified integer value associated with an interference.
3. Click OK.
To Compare Two Interference Detection Reports
On the Related Interference Detection Reports page, select two reports by clicking their check boxes in the list, and then right-click and select Compare. The Interference Detection Report Comparison table opens.
You can inspect the report by viewing information on the thumbnail or in the columns. Columns with comparative information can be sorted by different categories of that column. When sorting a column, all instances of the column are sorted, except for Common Parent Level, Change Status, Assignee, Assigned Interferences, Precision, and both Identities, in which case one page of results is sorted at a time.

Opening Interferences in Creo View
You can select one or more interferences from one of the tables that host interferences, and open them in Creo View.

Open the interferences in Creo View in one of the following ways
Select one or more interferences, right-click and select Open in Creo View.
Select one or more interferences, and then select Open in Creo View on the toolbar.
Select one or more interferences, and then select Actions > Open in Creo View.
The Interference Report opens into Creo View. The interferences that you selected are preselected in the Interference Detection pane of the lower data panel.

All selected interferences must reside in the same interference report.
You can also open an interference from the Thumbnail Navigator.
When opening Creo View from Interference Detection Report Comparison table.
If you select interferences that exist in both reports, Creo View opens the interferences in the context of Interference Detection Report 2 of the comparison.
If you select interferences that exist only in one report, Creo View opens to that report.
If you select interferences of which some are present in both reports, and some in either the first or the second report, Creo View opens to the common report.

To Add Interferences to Change Management Processes
Use the Clipboard to add or change interferences from any of the interference tables to these change processes.

To add interferences to the Clipboard, in the Related Interferences table perform on of the following procedures:
a. Check interferences in the Edit column of the Related Interferences table, and then right-click and select Copy Selected, or Actions > Copy Selected.
b. Select Quick Links > Clipboard. The Clipboard page opens. Its Object List is populated by the selected interferences.
To add interferences to a change process:
a. Select interferences in the Related Interferences table.
b. Select Actions > New, and then select one of the change process options. The change process opens and is populated by the selected objects.
After you create a change process report, in the Change Status column indicates that a change process report is associated to an interference.

You can navigate to a change process report from the mini-thumbnails viewer.
To Assign an Existing IDD to a Different Representation
1. On the Details page of an IDD, select Actions > Check Out and Edit. The Edit page opens.
2. Select Find. The Find Representable page opens.
3. Select the Search icon. The Find Type page opens.
4. Select All Applicable Object Types and click OK.
5. Select Search. The Search Results pane opens.
6. Select a representable and click OK. The Edit page opens on the Interference Detection Settings pane with the object you selected occupying the Name field.
