Associating a Context and Selecting a Mapping File for an Adapter
Site or Organization administrators must associate a context for each adapter listed in the Adapters Administration utility. This allows users to modify context associations for their defect tracking system adapters.
This procedure explains how to associate one or more contexts, and how to select a mapping file for an Integrity Defects adapter.
1. From Site > Utilities or Organizations > Utilities select Adapters Administration in the System Administration section of the page to open the Adapters Administration window.
*
The Adapter Associations table lists any contexts already associated to the adapter.
2. From the Adapter Definition table in the Adapters Administration window, click Associate Context to open the Adapter Associations window.
3. To associate a new or additional context to the adapter, click Associate Context to open the Find Context window.
4. In the Find Context window, you can choose from the Project search option:
a. Click the Type pull-down menu to select the type of context to search on. Valid context type is Project.
b. If you know the context name, enter it in the Context Name field. This field is optional.
c. If you want to only include contexts categorized by member association, click the I am a member of check box. This field is optional.
d. Click Search.
5. In the Search Results table, click the check box in one or more context rows to associate this adapter to one or more contexts.
6. Once the search and selection is finished, click OK in the Find Context window. Once the system loads your selections, the Adapter Associations window opens and displays the contexts associated to this adapter in the Adapter Associations table.
7. From the list in the Adapter Associations table, click the Default Reference Object drop-down list to either select one project view or All to select all project views in the list.
To select more than one project view, close the Default Reference Object drop-down list and click the Configure Views icon to open the Projects Specification table. Select the project views you want and click OK when finished.
8. Click Next to load and save the selection. The Map Attributes window opens.
9. From the drop-down list of available mapping files, select the mapping file you want to associate with this adapter’s contexts.
10. Click Validate to determine if the selected mapping file is valid.
a. If the mapping file is valid, a message stating that the mapping file is valid displays. Click OK to exit the message. Click Finish to save and load the mapping file for the adapter. The system returns you to the Adapters Administration window.
b. If the mapping file is invalid, the system displays the invalid criteria for the mapping file. After you have noted the invalid mapping message, click OK.
*
If the mapping file is invalid during the context association of an adapter, you cannot save the context association or its invalid mapping file for the adapter. You must abort the procedure.
If the invalid mapping file is the wrong mapping file, select the appropriate mapping file from the pull-down list and click Validate.
If the invalid mapping file is the intended mapping file, click Cancel to abort the procedure.
If you created a new mapping file, or updated an existing mapping file and it is invalid during this procedure, correct the attributes of the mapping file. Refer to Creating or Editing a Mapping File.
