Configuring the Indexing User: Restrict Contexts, Validate Permissions, Optimize AI Credits
When configuring indexing user, it is essential to manage permissions thoughtfully to ensure efficiency and avoid unnecessary resource consumption.
Restrict access to specific contexts:
Provide indexing users access only to the contexts that need to be indexed, such as Site, Product, Library, Project, or Organization. If access is not restricted, all parts in the Windchill database will be indexed, which may unnecessary and can significantly increase processing time.
Verify permissions for required objects:
Ensure that permissions for the Parts and the Derived Images type are properly granted within the selected context. This is essential for successful indexing.
Be cautious about what you index:
Indexing consumes AI credits. Indexing unnecessary data leads to higher credit usage and potential additional costs for purchasing more credits later. Configure permissions carefully to control what is indexed and optimize resource usage.
