Support for Windchill AI Assistant

Description
The Windchill AI Assistant includes the following new features for on‑premises and SaaS environments:
• Provides a modern chat interface for natural language queries, accessible from the Navigator pane in Windchill, offering readily available AI assistance.
• The AI Assistant is strictly focused on providing answers based on the content of documents in the Windchill vault. It does not currently answer questions related to document metadata, other business objects, or the software itself.
• Enables summarization of documents stored in the Windchill vault, either through a Summarize Document action or by using a prompt in the AI Assistant chat window.
• Supports enhanced content indexing of key Windchill business objects, including:
◦ WTDocuments, EPM Documents, and QMS Documents
◦ Dynamic documents created using Arbortext Editor
◦ Primary and secondary content elements, representations, and attachments

Indexing is incremental and event‑driven using a queue-based mechanism. For a complete list of supported business objects and file types, see Document Indexing Specifications.

• Can use the context of the current container (product, project, or library) to limit the AI Assistant’s responses. The AI Assistant can also be instructed to prioritize answers based on the currently open business object.
• Allows users to open the corresponding document details page by selecting document references in chat responses. Documents can also be downloaded directly from the AI Assistant chat window.
• Supports queries in the user’s current Windchill language, regardless of the document language. Users can also submit queries in English at any time.
• The Windchill AI Assistant is localized for all primary Windchill PLM languages, including English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Brazilian Portuguese, and Spanish.
• Provides basic indexing support for dynamic documents created in Arbortext Editor. Enhanced indexing quality for these documents will be delivered in a future release.
• Enforces a maximum chat conversation length. Users are notified when five responses remain before the conversation limit is reached.
• Uses GPT‑5 to deliver improved AI capabilities and response quality.
• Allows Site and Business Administrators to configure and manage indexing parameters using the Indexing Dashboard.
The Windchill AI Assistant includes the following additional features for on‑premises environments:
• Supports installation using Windchill Plugin Manager.
• Provides an Indexing Dashboard for Site and Business Administrators to configure indexing parameters, monitor backend service health, and view document indexing statistics.
• Supports role-based authentication using a service principal for secure access to Azure resources.
• Includes guidance for rehosting Windchill instances that use the AI Assistant. For more information, see Rehosting Servers with the AI Assistant Plugin for On-prem Environment.
The Windchill AI Assistant includes the following new features for SaaS environments:
• Provides an Indexing Dashboard for Business Administrators to configure indexing parameters, monitor backend service health, and view document indexing statistics.
• Only Business Administrators can modify plugin setup settings through plugin configuration.
