Identify Required Parties and Stakeholders
SSO requires configuring connections between your corporate Identity Provider (IdP) and your PTC products. Typically, this means that multiple administrators will need to be involved.
Ensure that you know who the proper contacts are at your company for the following roles, as they will be able to help you answer the questions in this document.
Party or Stakeholder
Description
Experience Service Administrator
Person that configures and manages the Experience Service environment. This includes managing access to the configuration files and performing software updates as needed.
ThingWorx Administrator
Person that configures and manages the ThingWorx environment; this includes managing access to the configuration files and performing server restarts.
Network/IT Administrator
Person that assesses the company’s corporate SSO implementation requirements, including the specific ports and URLs that must be opened or unblocked. This person also ensures that the network connectivity is working for SSO components.
Identity and Access Management (IAM) team or Administrator
Person or team that deploys and configures IAM systems and SSO solutions.
