Track Package Deployment
After you deploy a package, you can track the deployment status by using one of the following methods:
By package —This option allows you to view and filter a list of all production deployments of a selected package. You can also delete, edit, redeploy, or abort a deployment.
By asset — This option allows you to filter the list of assets by asset name, status, or deployment start or end dates.
Complete the following steps to track deployment status of a package:
1. From the left pane in ThingWorx Software Content Management, under the Deployments section, depending on how you want to track the deployment, choose one of the following options:
Navigate to TRACK > Deployment By package.
The Track Deployment By Package page appears.
Ensure that the package that you want to track deployment for is displayed in the Selected Package field.
This field displays the last package for which deployment was created If you want to track deployment for a different package, click , and select the correct package from the Find Packages For Deployment page.
Navigate to TRACK > Deployment By asset.
The Track Deployment By Asset page appears.
In the Select an Asset field, click to search for, and select a remote thing.
2. Use any of the following filters to search for deployments, and click Filter:
Deployment Name — Use the filters to search for a deployment by its name.
Deployment Description — Use the filters to search for a deployment by its description.
Package Name — Use the filters to search for a deployment by the package name.

This filter is available on the Track Deployment By Asset page only.
Started By — Search for a deployment by specifying the user that started the deployment.
Started Between — Use the date and time selector widgets to find a deployment by the time range during which it was started.
Status — Select All, In Progress, or Completed to view all deployments, deployments in progress, or completed deployments only.
Completed — Select All, With Issues, or Without Issues to view all deployments, deployment with issues, or deployments without issues only.
Alternatively, click Clear to clear all filters.
The following information is available for each package in the Deployments table:
Field
Description
Deployment Name
Specifies the name of the deployment.
Status
Specifies the status of the deployment as one of the following:
in-progress — Indicates that the first asset of the deployment has begun receiving the package.
completed — Indicates that all assets of the deployment have finished receiving the package.
Package Name
Specifies the package name.
This information is available on the Track Deployment By Asset page only.
Description
Specifies the package description.
This information is available on the Track Deployment By Asset page only.
Had Issues
Once the deployment is completed, this check box is selected to indicate if the deployment had issues.
Started By
Specifies the user that started the deployment.
Start Date
Specifies the start date at which the deployment was started.
3. Depending on the status of deployment and your requirement, select a deployment from the list and perform one of the following actions:
Click to view the View Assets For Deployment page. Alternatively, double-click a deployment to view the View Assets For Deployment page.
This page provides information about the package that you deployed and the options that you had selected while creating a deployment. Use the following available filters to filter deployment on target assets, and click Filter:
Asset Name — Click to search for and select the remote asset.
Status — Select Aborted, Completed, Failed, or Started to filter assets based on their deployment status.
Started Between — Use the date and time selector widgets to find a deployment by the time range during which it was started.
Alternatively, click Clear to clear all filters.
The Assets in Deployment table provides the following information about each deployment:
Field
Description
Asset Name
Specifies the name of the delivery target (asset).
Status
Specifies the delivery target state.
The delivery target states are different for file-based and instruction-based packages. For more information, see Delivery Target States during Deployments.
Download Date
Specifies the date on which the package was successfully downloaded to the asset.
Install Date
Specifies the date on which the package was successfully installed on the asset.
Auto-Retries Remaining
Displays the number of automatic retries available for the deployment.
Max Number of Auto-Retries
Displays the maximum number of retries that were configured for the deployment.
Message
Displays the status message for the delivery target.

Click to go to the Notify page. You can modify the notification recipients (users, user groups, or email addresses) for the selected deployment.
Click to abort the selected deployment.
Click to delete the selected deployment.
This page also displays the following states of the asset (delivery target) during a deployment and the number of assets (for all deployments) that are in each state:
In Progress
Completed
Failed
Ineligible
Aborted
Canceled By User
