Descriptive Analytics Upgrades
If you plan to install Descriptive Analytics as part of Platform Analytics and you already have a version of Descriptive Analytics installed, from 8.3 or earlier, you must uninstall the previous version of Descriptive Analytics before you can launch the Platform Analytics installer. For information about removing a previous version, see Notes about Upgrading Descriptive Analytics in Upgrade from an Earlier Version .

The manual removal in necessary only when upgrading from an 8.3 or earlier version. When upgrading from 8.4 to a subsequent release, the manual step will not be necessary.
