Upgrading to an 8.5 Service Pack Release
Upgrading to a service pack release (for example, from 8.5.0 to 8.5.2) follows a simplified upgrade process.

If you are upgrading from a previous version of ThingWorx Apps such as 8.3.x or 8.4.x, follow the instructions provided in Upgrading ThingWorx Apps before upgrading to an 8.5 service pack.

1. Review the ThingWorx Apps service pack release notes for any release-specific upgrade instructions.
2. Upgrade your ThingWorx to the latest ThingWorx 8.5.x release. For more information, see the "Maintenance Release/Service Pack Upgrade Process" section of Upgrading to ThingWorx 8.5, available from Reference Documents.
The compatible ThingWorx releases for each ThingWorx Apps service pack are identified in the release notes for the service pack.
3. Download and import the ThingWorx Apps extension files as described in steps 2 through 4 of Import the
ThingWorx Apps Extension.

If you are upgrading to 8.5.2, do not import the ThingWorx Remote Access Extension 1.2.0 before importing the ThingWorx Apps extension files.

4. Restart your ThingWorx server.
5. Import any optional extensions as described in Import Optional Extensions.
6. If you are upgrading to 8.5.2, update the ThingWorx Remote Access Extension present in ThingWorx by importing version 1.2.0. For more information, see Remote Access in the ThingWorx Help Center.
7. Complete steps 1 through 6 of the post import database configurations as described in Post Import
Database Configurations.

Be sure to perform steps 4 through 6 on the new PTC.Factory.C_LaunchPointConfigurationThing_[ReleaseVersion] thing for the service pack release.

8. Restart your ThingWorx server.
9. If you customized your ThingWorx Apps, refer to Upgrade and Customizations to address any impact to your customizations resulting from the upgrade.
10. Recommend that users clear the browser cache on any client machines.
