Create New Equipment
There are two ways to add new equipment to the plant model: adding a root equipment or adding a child equipment.
Adding root equipment is always available. It will create an equipment at the highest level of the plant hierarchy.
Adding a child equipment is available when an existing equipment is selected, and that equipment is not the lowest level of equipment type. The selection will become the parent for the newly created equipment.
1. Click either + Root or + Child to open Step One: General Configuration step in add mode.
2. Under Add New Equipment, complete the following (all required):
◦ Name—Enter the equipment name.
◦ Display Name—Enter the display name for the equipment.
◦ Equipment Type—Select the equipment type from the drop-down list. The Equipment Type options are available based on the Parent Equipment assigned.
3. Step Two: Advanced Settings and Step Three: Attributes are only accessible during equipment edit. See Editing Equipment for more information.
