These characteristics are used in various dashboards to color code key performance indicators. It is possible to apply this characteristic type to custom characteristics, but the application will not natively take them into account as out-of-the-box characteristics.

Each ThingWorx application comes with system characteristics for KPI thresholds “OEEThreshold”, “OOEThreshold”, “AvailabilityThreshold”, “QualityThreshold”, “PerformanceThreshold” which are associated with the system characteristic type called “KPIThreshold”. Never change the characteristic type associated with these KPI Thresholds characteristics as it will break dashboard functionalities.

Limits must be entered against the system characteristics listed above and associated to an equipment of any level. Products and product types are not allowed.

This context does not use products or product types, only the equipment hierarchy inheritance will be used.
