Editing Properties
From the Additional Properties page, properties with a Type of String, Boolean, Integer, Long, Number, and DateTime can be edited.
A property that is used in an expression, alert, or trend cannot be edited. Those usages must be removed before the property can be edited.
To edit a property, complete the following steps:
1. Select the property in the Additional Properties table and click .
2. Edit the property fields as appropriate.
For static properties, the Value can be edited. The Property Name and Type can be edited only for those static properties that you have added to the piece of equipment. If you change the Type, update the Value as needed.
For bound properties, to change the selected tag, click to remove the current tag value. Select the Equipment Type and Equipment, then select the new tag. The Property Name for bound properties cannot be edited.
Keep in mind the following:
New properties that are bound to KEPServerEX tags from the Additional Properties page are remotely bound, and remain so when edited, either from the Additional Properties page or in ThingWorx Composer.
When properties that are locally bound to a KEPServerEX tag are edited from the Additional Properties page, they are changed to be remotely bound. For properties that are locally bound to KEPServerEX tags to be edited from the Additional Properties page, the conditions for binding properties to KEPServerEX tags must be met. Properties that were bound to a KEPServerEX tag in a previous release and not migrated to the remote binding during upgrade to 9.0 are locally bound. New local bindings to KEPServerEX tags can only be made using ThingWorx Composer.
To edit a property that is locally bound to a KEPServerEX tag and retain the local binding, use ThingWorx Composer.
Properties that are remotely bound to an Edge MicroServer (EMS) device using ThingWorx Composer cannot be edited from the Additional Properties page, but can be deleted.
3. Click OK to save your edits. If you select a different property in the table before clicking OK, any edits that you have made are lost.
