Upgrading to Java 11 for 9.1.x
ThingWorx Analytics 9.1 requires the use of either Java 8 or Java 11. If you are installing ThingWorx Analytics 9.1 as a completely new installation, and you are already running Java 11, no additional Java upgrade procedures are necessary. However, if you plan to upgrade to ThingWorx Analytics 9.1 from an earlier version of the product, and you also want to upgrade from Java 8 to Java 11, some extra configuration steps are necessary.
Upgrade Overview
The following steps must be completed in the order listed below:
1. Upgrade Analytics Server or Platform Analytics to release 9.1.
2. Install Java 11.
3. Shut down Analytics Server or Platform Analytics.
4. Update the necessary service files to point to your Java 11 installation.
5. Import any necessary SSL certificates from Java 8 to the Java 11 cacerts file.
6. Update the JAVA_HOME environment variable to point to Java 11.
7. Restart Analytics Server or Platform Analytics.
