Specifying the License Server
For this part of the installation, make sure you have the logical host name from your network administrator.

Prerequisite. You must have already subscribed and purchased the necessary Servigistics InService Publisher or Viewer licenses. See Installing a Stand Alone License Server for more information.
Use the following options for the license server:
Option
Description
License Server DNS Registered Host Name
The fully qualified host name of the license server on which the solution was installed.
The host name must conform to the required standard Internet format that specifies the name can be a text string up to 63 characters drawn from only the alphabet (A-Z and a-z), digits (0-9), hyphen (-), and period (.). The period is used only as a domain name separator. The first character of a host name can be either a letter or a digit.
The default is:
<hostname>.<domainname>
License Server Port
The port number for license server requests.
Updating License Server Information Post-Install
You can change the License Server configuration post-installation. Create a system environment variable with the following details:
• Variable Name: PTC_LICENSE_FILE
• Variable Value: port@hostname (e.g. 7790@licenseserver.com)

Configure License Server Path
If you opted out of configuring licenses while installing Servigistics InService, complete the following steps:
1. Open the following file in a text editor: /opt/InService/InS_SW/SW/3C.properties
2. Add the following property, using the port and hostname values for your server:
licenseServerPath=<port>@<hostname>
3. Restart the server.
