Servigistics InService Deployment > Deploying a Servigistics InService Offline System > Activating the Servigistics InService Offline System

Activating the Servigistics InService Offline System
Activate your application by registering your licenses. To register your license you can use either the web option (if connected to the server), or you can activate manually using the administrative package provided by the Servigistics InService administrator. If you are associated with more than one service group, you sill be prompted to choose a service group when you activate your offline system.
*
License activation must be done by a user with activation privileges.
To activate the offline system navigate to one of the following:
http://<hostname>:8080/InService/
http://<hostname>:8080/InService/delivery/activation/activation.jsp
Once completed users can now log into the offline system.
Activating a License Using Internet Explorer
License activation using the web is supported on Internet Explorer 9. However, using Internet Explorer 9 to activate a license while using a packet file, or during a manual activation, is not supported. Use a later version of Internet Explorer to activate your license using a packet file or during a manual activation.
The default browser settings on Internet Explorer cause an Authentication Prompt to appear when attempting to activate a license. To prevent this prompt from appearing use the following procedure:
1. Navigate to Internet Options > Security > Custom Level > User Authentication.
2. Change the default option of Automatic logon only in Intranet zone to Anonymous logon.
3. Navigate to Internet Options > Security > Trusted Sites.
4. Remove the check on Require Server Verification.
5. Add the offline site URL.
6. Close and then reopen Internet Explorer.
Manually Generating an Administrative Package
For offline systems that do not use the web activation, an administrative package must be generated and provided to the administrator for the offline system. (For web activations, this information is downloaded automatically.) The administrative package includes the licenses, users, and profiles defined for the offline system.
*
Before the administrative package can be generated, the installation key for the offline system must be manually entered on the Licensing Configuration tab for the service group or the user who is not a member of a service group. The installation key is generated when the offline system is installed, and is displayed on the Activate System screen for the offline system.
Complete the following steps to generate the administrative package:
1. From the administration home page, launch the appropriate utility:
for a service group, launch the Service Groups utility
for a user who is not a member of a service group, launch the Users utility
2. Click the name of the service group or user for which you are generating an administrative package.
3. Click Generate.
*
Unsaved changes are not included in the generated activation package. If you make any changes to the service group or user information, click Save, and then click Generate.
4. On the confirmation window, click Generate.
5. Save the generated administrative package to a known location, and distribute it appropriately.
