SFM Wizard Layouts
All the standard, packaged objects, and custom objects for which wizards are present in the source org are listed in the SFM Wizard Layout section for migration. You can select either all objects or specific objects for which the wizard layout configuration needs to be migrated. Consider the following points while migrating SFM Wizard items:
If you set up a new org, select all the available SFM wizards and all the objects under the SFM wizards layout section for migration. Along with Wizards, their layout configurations are also migrated.
If you migrate specific SFM wizards, then select the corresponding objects in the SFM Wizards Layout section for migration. This ensures that the migrated wizards are positioned the same in the target org layout configuration as that of the source org.
You can also choose to migrate Wizard layout configurations independently (not along with corresponding SFM Wizards) if the target org already has the corresponding SFM wizards.
At validation, the Migration Tool checks if all the wizards in the layout configuration are present in the target org.
If no errors are found, then the tool allows you to migrate the layout configuration.
If one or more SFM wizards are missing in target org, then the tool does not allow you to migrate the layout configuration. The following error message is displayed:Below Listed SFM Wizards are not present in target org:SFM_Wizard_Process1SFM_Wizard_Process2
At validation for the selected object, if there are additional SFM Wizards in the target layout configuration then:
The additional wizards found in the target layout are listed.
Use the Overwrite option to confirm the action.
If you choose to overwrite, then the target org's layout configuration is maintained the same as the source org, and the additional wizards found are pushed to the bottom of the layout. The administrator manually removes them or re-arranges them after the migration as per their requirement.
If you choose an object under the SFM Wizard layout for migration, but that object is missing in the target org, an error is displayed and migration is not allowed. Error message not only specifies the missing object but also lists the SFM wizards configured in the source org's layout configuration. Refer to the details to create the missing object in the target org and choose the SFM wizards for migration in the next iteration.
You can choose a new SFM wizard and its layout configuration for migration in a single iteration. At the validation of layout configuration, if any SFM Wizard is not found in the target org but has been selected for migration, then no error is displayed.
The migration log and migration status Excel file capture details of the objects for which the wizard layout is migrated. They also capture details about the extra wizards retained in the target org.
If handover-related configurations exist for the selected wizard, then the dependent wizard is also migrated.
*
SFM Wizards are not migrated when layout configuration is selected for migration.
SFM Wizard and SFM Wizard Layouts are migrated as independent entities.
Any extra wizards found in the target org are pushed to the last slots of layout configuration if the user chooses to overwrite. Migration status.xls and a Migration log file capture this information.
At validation, the user is provided with details about missing wizards, objects, and extra wizards to take necessary corrective actions.
