Uploading Attachments
You can upload documents, photos, and videos to the record. This can be done only when using create/edit processes (stand-alone edit, source to target, stand-alone create) provided the process has attachments configured.
The procedure to upload attachments is as follows:
1. Click Actions to launch the required create or edit process.
2. Click Attached Documents or Attached Images/Videos in the left pane.
3. Click +Add link in the right pane to display the options as shown in the following image. These options are only applicable to FSA for iPad and FSA for Android Tablet. Choose any one option:
a. Take Photo: Use this option to activate the device camera in photo mode and capture a photo. The captured photo is attached to the work order under the Attached Images/Videos section.
b. Take Video: Use this option to activate the device camera in video mode and capture a video of a maximum of 30 seconds. The captured video is attached to the work order under the Attached Images/Videos section.
*
On FSA for Android Tablet, ensure that the attached video file size should not be more than 25 MB, even though the video is less than 30 seconds. You can reduce the resolution to capture longer videos and attach them to the work order.
c. Choose from Library: Use this option to open the device-specific Photo Library. You can either select a single photo or video to be attached to the work order under the Attached Images/Videos section.
4. In FSA for Windows, Click the +Add link in the right pane to display the Choose from Library option. Click the Choose from Library option to open the Windows Explorer screen and select a single file to be attached. Depending upon the type of file attached, the attachment is available under Attached Documents or Attached Images/Videos.
*
To remove the Choose from Library option when uploading attachments, go to SET007 (Module: ServiceMax iPad Client; Submodule: General) and set it to True. By default, the SET007 is set to False. It is recommended to use the server version 19.10000.12 and above for the setting to work.
5. Click the Save button to save the record.
Upon the next successful data sync, the attachment will be available online.
