Edit Text Fields
To edit the contents of a text field:
• On Windows laptop, tap the text field to edit it. Make the necessary changes and tapSave/Done to save the changes. If you have a external barcode scanner attached to your laptop, then Barcode icon is displayed in the text field. You can tap it to capture data related to products and parts. The in-built camera in Windows laptop is not used for barcode scanning.
• On mobile devices, tap the text field to launch the keyboard for typing. Make the necessary changes and tapSave/Done to save the changes. Barcode icon is displayed in the text field. You can tap it to capture data related to products and parts.
Voice to Text
You can use the mobile device's voice to text capability to provide inputs to text fields in Field Service App. To use voice commands in text fields in edit mode:
1. Click the text field and and tap the microphone icon on the device's keyboard.
2. Provide the voice command for the text message. The words you spoke is appended to the existing content of the text field based on where the cursor is placed. You can use this option to enter text in the subject or description fields but you cannot use voice command to select an item from a picklist.
