How to Manage Document Templates
A document template can be designed in the Template Designer tab of SFM Designer for SFM transactions of type Output Document. Designing involves the following aspects:
Designing the UI aspects of the report such as labels, fonts, logos, and so on
Binding of Salesforce and ServiceMax data with the report's UI elements
Defining dynamic conditions, formatting, and calculations in the report
The above are achieved using the Content Tree in the left pane and the embedded HTML Editor on the right pane of Template Designer tab.
Similar to how filters, maps, and page layouts are managed, templates are managed using the ServiceMax Action Icons at the top of the Template Designer tab. The actions supported are selection of an existing template, editing custom templates, cloning standard/custom templates, discarding unsaved changes, and deleting custom templates.
This section lists sample steps for designing the various aspects of a template using the Content Tree and HTML Editor.
