Configurator Deployment Options
This article provides information about various deployment options. You must select the deployment options as per your configuration requirements.
The following table lists the details about various fields:
Field
Description
Load default profiles
Select this check box to install the pre-configured user profiles and page layouts.
Load Standard SFM Flows
Select this check box to load pre-configured SFM transactions, sample SFMs, and system SFMs.
Load Standard SFM Wizards
Select this option to load the pre-configured SFM Wizards. When this option is selected, the Load Standard SFM Flows option is auto-selected, because associated standard SFMs and custom SFM actions are also deployed along with wizards.
*
Deployment options help you to preserve the limited space available for Sandbox instances. It is not recommended to select these options if you have storage space constraints in your org.
Standard SFM Transactions and standard SFM Wizards are loaded based on your configuration type. For example, if your configuration type is Enterprise, more than a hundred standard SFM Transactions and standard SFM Wizards are loaded to your org.
If you leave the checkboxes unchecked, none of the standard SFM transactions, SFM Wizards, ServiceMax Profiles, and page layouts are deployed.
Seed execution with all deployment options selected requires approximately 31 MB of storage in the org.
Deployment Options for Upgrade Scenario
If you run ServiceMax Configurator after the ServiceMax version upgrade, consider the following points while selecting checkboxes in the Deployment Options section:
Load the following legacy profiles check box:
Use caution while selecting this option after the ServiceMax version upgrade. If you have modified the pre-configured profiles, page layouts, or document templates in your installation, they are overwritten with the standard configurations.
If you select the Load Legacy Profiles check box, Flash-based Dispatch Console is removed from the default ServiceMax Home page for the standard profiles. Only Dispatch Console HTML5 is displayed on the ServiceMax Home page.
Load the following Standard SFM Flows and Load Standard SFM Wizards checkboxes:
The configuration type must be the same as your selection during fresh installation.
It is not recommended to select these options during the upgrade if you do not want to deploy standard SFMs and Wizards in your org.
It is not recommended to select these options if you have storage space constraints in your org.
If you had selected these options as part of your fresh installation, and selected these options for upgrade: Any additional standard SFMs and Wizards that are available in the upgraded version and any updates made to the existing standard SFMs and Wizards are deployed.
If you had not selected these options during a fresh installation, and selected these options for upgrade: You will see the standard SFMS and Wizards deployed in your org based on your configuration type.
If you select the Load Standard SFM Flows and Load Standard SFM Wizards checkboxes, SFM Wizards and Flows related to Flash-based Dispatch Console are removed. SFM Wizards and Flows related to Dispatch Console HTML5 are retained.
S-Control Swapping
When you run ServiceMax Configurator, SFM Wizards S-control is replaced with the Visualforce page for both standard and custom objects. Information about the swap and deployment of a new VF page is captured in log files. This does not cause any change in the user interface or functionality of SFM wizard delivery for users. This is a technical improvement to enable enhanced compatibility with the enhancements of the Salesforce platform. S-controls for external (or third-party) managed package objects are not replaced.
