Configuring Installed Package
After installation, all components are available out-of-the-box if they are in the developer's org. Before making the package available to your users, make necessary changes for your implementation. The following components can be customized:
Component
Description
Configure Option
If the developer includes this option in the package, this option is displayed next to Setup's package when you click . Click to view the suggested configurations.
Custom Fields and Custom Links
Add any custom fields or links to the new custom objects.
Home Page Layouts
Custom Home page layouts included in the package are not assigned to any users. To make them available to your users, assign the layouts to the appropriate profiles.
List Views
The list views included in apps are visible to all users. Change the visibility of the list views if necessary.
Page Layouts
All users are assigned a default page layout for any custom objects included in the package. Admins can configure the page layouts for the appropriate users.
Permission Sets
Assign permission sets included in a package to the users who require access to the package. You cannot edit permission sets that are included in a managed package. You can modify the permission sets if you clone an existing one or create your own permission set.
Custom Report Types
If the Report Type Name of a custom report type matches with one used within your org, change the Report Type Name after installing the package. It allows you to avoid any confusion between the two reports.
Records Created During Post-Installation Script
To edit records created by a post-install script, reassign the owner of the records to someone in your org. By default, the records created during a post-install script are assigned to the APP account owner alias and cannot be shared or edited.
*
The components that you add to a custom app after installation is removed with the custom app if you uninstall it.
