Matching Data Review
Validate and manage records that have failed matching rules before they are synced into production.
The Data Review feature in PTC Orbit enables you to validate and manage records that have failed matching rules before they are synced into production. It acts as a checkpoint to ensure only accurate, complete, and reliable data is promoted.
This section provides instructions for Data Review users on how to review and manage data within the PTC Orbit. As a data reviewer, you can access the Data Review section by navigating through the PTC Orbit home page and Data Foundry. The navigation bar displays objects with pending reviews, and you can click on these to view data awaiting review. Data Review involves managing records in the Data Review Stage Unified Records, with options to update, reassign, or remove records. You can reset changes, save updates, or sync records to the PTC Orbit, with specific actions available for managing groups and records. The page includes controls for list view management, such as expanding, selecting, filtering, and paginating records.
Use Cases
Data Review supports several common data management scenarios:
• Duplicate Resolution: Two assets imported from different systems share similar serial numbers. A data reviewer merges the records, retaining the most trusted values to ensure accuracy in service operations.
• Data Correction: A product record from an external system arrives missing a mandatory field such as product code. The reviewer updates the record before it flows into production, preventing downstream errors.
• Compliance and Governance: Regulatory policy requires properly formatted asset IDs. Data Review ensures only compliant and standardized records are synced, reducing audit risks.
• Operational Efficiency: Instead of halting processes due to incorrect data, reviewers quickly resolve flagged records, keeping workflows such as campaigns, scoring, or work orders on track.
